JIMMY SMITH “Home Cookin’” Blue Note RVG, P, DG, LAM, BLP 4050 Mono Vinyl
This is 1961, first edition, “RVG” stamped, Laminated Cover, Deep Groove, “P” pressing of JIMMY SMITH’s “Home Cookin’” on the "47 West 63rd” labels of Blue Note BLP 4050. Musicians include Jimmy Smith, Percy France, Kenny Burrell, Donald Bailey.
VINYL plays with consistent low-level surface noise (i.e, crackle, static, ?? or ????, relative to the volume of the music/instruments), with occasional pops and ticks (some repeating). But ensemble sections are very clear, dynamic and strong with clean transients, and full tone. No distortion. Except for one skip on Side 2 #1, no skips. Nice gloss. Handful of hairline marks, 2 or 3 feelable. (If you can’t feel it, you won’t hear it). The “47 West 63rd” labels are clean, some fading, spindle wear. Original inner sleeve included. See photos.
LAMINATED COVER is in excellent shape. No peeling. Corners worn. Seams and mostly clean. Back jacket shows wear, stains. Please see photos.
This LP was play-tested on a high-end audio system. RECORD CLEANED ON ULTRASONIC CLEANER.
