(Side 2) -

People Get Ready / The Entertainer / Come To Me Softly / Little Boy Blue / It's Growing / Amen / Ain't No Big Thing ...

... (Record Collector Grading System : i.e. MINT, (which can include ; As New, Perfect, Sealed or Unplayed - as advised and as appropriate !) / NEAR MINT, (NM) / EXCELLENT, (EX.) / VERY GOOD, (VG.)... / plus (+) & minus (-) are used where appropriate !) ...

...CONDITION / GRADE ;

No Problems & A 'Nice' Condition Original Vinyl LP (Visually & Audibly Graded) ;

The 'red' Piccadilly Record Labels are in EX+ condition (no stickers, no writting, no blemishes or flaws but some light spindle 'trace' lines near the centre spindle hole ; overall then, in essentialy EX+ condition !) /

The Garrod & Lofthouse front-laminated 'flipback' type Sleeve is in EX. condition (a few light laminate creases but, as such, no bends to the sleeve itself / there is very little 'age' type wear to the corners and the spine is straight and unblemished with clearly readable album details / there is no 'lifting' of any of the laminate and the opening edge is straight with no dents or damage or tares / there is no writting or major blemishes to the rear of the sleeve and the rear sleeve 'black&white' picture of Jimmy James is clear and true, and the sleeve notes are perfectly legible / there is, however, a bit of slight 'age' grubiness near the opening edge which is probably the result of fingers being placed there when the record has been taken out of the sleeve, but this is not significant or serious or a detraction to the overall grade ! ..overall then, the sleeve is in EX. condition with no serious faults or flaws !) /

The Vinyl is in EX. condition...(the heavy thick vinyl retains it's original black gloss visual appearance with only slight signs of play ; with only a few light, slight and visual only surface 'hairlines' from being removed from the inner sleeve, but nothing serious or that affects the playback ; I noticed only one light 'pop' which was exactly between the 2nd & 3rd tracks, side 2 ..this is after the music has finished on track 2 and before tack 3 begins so there's absolutely no problem and no infringement to the overall listening enjoyment ! ...there are just a couple of small, very light visual only 'surface' type marks, certainly not deep, that don't affect the play and that don't diminish it's grade ! / there are no bad or serious listening problems - it plays with clarity, clearly and as it should for it's grade ; enjoyable and problem free listening pleasure ! ..overall then, the vinyl must grade as being in EX. condition with no particularly bad or serious problems !) /

The overall grade for this album is therefore EX. condition, with no bad or serious faults or flaws ! ...

..." STATEMENT OF SELLING - MY PROMISE OF QUALITY, MY SERVICE GUARANTEE & COMMENTS ON THE GRADED CONDITION OF MY LISTED RECORDS " :

I have now dealt in and sold vinyl records for over 30 years ! ...During this time I've owned and run 2 'High Street' Record Shops specialising in the sale of quality collector vinyl records ! ...(Note that I now only sell Vinyl Records on eBay !) ...Therefore you have my reassurance that I know how to accurately and 'expertly' grade the condition of these records ; both the sleeves and the respective vinyl condition ! ...Every vinyl is viewed under a bright light bulb to establish the grade ! ...I use the U.K. Record Collector 'Rare Record Grading System' as the basis for grading condition, but I'm generally stricter than this as I'm a perfectionist by nature ! ...I'm an honest, conscientious seller and I generally only list records that grade at between at least EX. to MINT condition ! ...I only list records that I believe there to be no problem with, and only records that I would be personally happy to receive myself ! ...I do not list records that I'm unsure about ; all I want is a straightforward transaction & a happy buyer when the deal is concluded ! ...I do not over-describe vinyl or use obscure words such as 'shiny' ; this is meaningless and could otherwise mean anything ! ...I consider that overly long descriptions are both confusing and not necessary ; a precise description using 'specific' wording which accurately describes the vinyl's good and bad points provides a better understanding of the condition for the prospective bidder... rather than a long and repetitive descriptive 'exercise' ! ...For example, a record I describe as being in EX. condition should be just that ; Excellent and with no problems ! ...also, please rest assured that the vinyl I offer is always clean, dust free and grit free and will always be in the best possible condition that it can be for it's grade ; all you have to do is put it on the 'deck' and play it ! ...The graded condition reflects both a visual and aural grade and the record should play according to it's graded condition ! ...I try to play grade as many of my records as possible, or if I think there's a need to then the record is play graded as a matter of course to confirm the grade ! ...Any fault or flaw will obviously be mentioned in my description...I very rarely get it wrong & my 'positive' feedback hopefully speaks for itself ! ...Should I make a mistake, which is very rarely, then I offer a full money back guarantee upon return ! ...Records are posted in heavy duty 'cruciform' mailing packers & every care is taken ! ...Please therefore have confidence knowing that I only sell vinyl records on eBay and that each record is carefully and accurately graded and is guaranteed as such ! ...HAVE CONFIDENCE : THIS IS MY PROMISE, MY GUARANTEE OF SERVICE & MY ASSURANCE OF ACCURATELY GRADED QUALITY COLLECTOR VINYL RECORDS !!! ...ALL THE BEST !) ...

...( If you want 'Superb' Vinyl, Great Quality and Service ! ...Then have no fear ! eBay user psycho-vinyl is here ! ...And now ! what more can I say ! ...Other than to wish you Good Luck & Good Day ! ) ...

BIOGRAPHY ; by Andew Hamilton :

Beat R&B vocalist Jimmy James was born Michael James on September 13, 1940, and grew up in Jamaica. He started performing American soul music in the late '50s. As a solo artist he notched two number one records in Jamaica as Jimmy James on Tip Top Records: "Bewildered and Blue," and "Come to Me Softly" (the latter reached number 70 in States). After the two solo smashes, one of Jamaica's most popular bands, the Vagabonds, approached him; they needed a lead singer and Jimmy was hot. James agreed to work with the band, and Jimmy James & the Vagabonds formed in 1960. They found steady work at the Marquee Club in London, where the British clamored to hear their bag of American soul music. The Northern soul boom was still seeding, and American soul singers rarely came to England, so Jimmy James & the Vagabonds filled a void. The Vagabonds were Rupert Balgobin (drums), Phillip Chen (rhythm guitar), Coleson Chen (bass), Wallace Wilson (lead guitar), Carl Noel (organ), Carl Griffiths & Fred Fredericks (sax), and the focal point, next to Jimmy, Count Prince Miller, a crowd-pleaser who got the audience involved in the show.

In London, they got their first contract with Pye Records, but released only a series of unpopular singles. Sales didn't start moving until they recorded a live album at the Marquee Club that did well and another entitled
The New Religion. Of the singles, only their 1968 cover of Neil Diamond's "Red Red Wine" resembled a hit. The Vagabonds called it quits in 1970, gave up the name, and disbanded. Jimmy owned the name and recruited new Vagabonds: a four-piece all-white band consisted of Chris Garfield (guitar), Alan Wood (bass), Russell Courtney (drums), and Alan Kirk (keyboards). They were good, but nowhere near as exciting live as the originals, and they didn't have anyone as charismatic as Count Prince Miller, who scored a solo reggae hit in 1971 with "Mule Train."

Jimmy James and his new
Vagabonds scored a minor hit "A Man Like Me," produced by Biddu on Lanita Records. A few recordings for Trojan Records resulted before they reunited with Pye and Biddu. After scoring with the Biddu-produced "Help Yourself," the band spent the '70s gigging. A handful of singles during the '80s did little, and in the '90s James reunited for a few gigs with Winston Curtis and Count Prince Miller.
