JIMI HENDRIX
"ELECTRIC LADYLAND"

JIMI HENDRIX ''ELECTRIC LADYLAND''

ORIGINAL 1ST UK STEREO PRESSING TRACK CAT NO. 613 008/9 1968 GATEFOLD DOUBLE ALBUM

THIS IS QUITE SIMPLY A STUNNING VERSION OF THIS LANDMARK LP!

Impossible to find in this condition and took me 25+ years of upgrading to get to this Museum Quality Level !!!!!!!

"Electric Ladyland" is without question not only Jimi Hendrix's creative peak in his too short lifetime, but it's also very highly placed with the greatest albums ever recorded. His incredible diversity as both a visionary composer and a gifted musician was given the fullest range on the additional space of a double album. Jimi Hendrix used the four sides as a blank canvas to paint the amazing sounds he had in his head. He took the stereo format to it's very limits and beyond to create the most astounding audio experience ever heard. I'm not just talking about in his own 1960's era, to this day there has never been anything to approach that level reached over 44 years later.

The 1968 1st pressing was unique for the cover and the LP's labels.
The 1st issue gatefold cover exclusively had the title's graphics in a vivid blue colour, all following Track covers after 1968 had the graphics in a white colour.
The 1968 cover also had the two pictures of Mitch and Noel as large sized photo's, all later covers had the photo's reduced to smaller size.

The LP's have probably been played only a handful of times as there is only the faintest of spindle marks, as you will see from the scan of Side A/D the vinyl residue is still present in the centre where the spindle hole was cut!

1st issue laminated 1968 version by ''Ernest J. Day & Co. Ltd., London, W.11.''
All eight corners are square shaped and all the edges are in superb condition. The opening edges are sharp and undamaged which is very rare for this cover!
There are the very mildest of crinkles to the laminate near the edges as is always the case but the laminate is still undamaged and unpeeled and the very very very mildest of ring wear signs to the front.
These were thick heavy vinyls back then!
A beautiful condition cover that you would be VERY hard pressed to upgrade.

An absolutely brilliant copy of this Classic LP and unbeatable in this condition!

IT DOESN'T GET ANY BETTER THAN THIS!

Being a dedicated Hendrix fan I know this to be a genuine 1st Pressing of this landmark Double LP.

The 1st pressings are on far heavier vinyl with the difference in the sound and the stereo dramatic!

As a genuine 1st Pressing this double LP also has all of the 1st Pressing points present:

Track labels have a catalogue number repeated above the bold silver print, upside down in smaller print and enclosed in brackets. The bracketed catalogue numbers end with a capital "A" or "B" on each side, on both record's labels.

The 1st issue gatefold cover has far deeper colour tones on the naked lady front with a green hue to the flesh tones.
Inside the gatefold the title graphics, Track logo and the ''Ernest J. Day & Co. Ltd., London, W.11." printer's address are in a blue colour.
Every following cover after 1968 had the graphics in a white colour. Above the blue titles are two pictures of Mitch & Noel.
In a 1st issue cover they are large sized photo's , but all later covers have the photo's in a greatly reduced size.

With regard to condition to find this Double LP in this condition is very RARE and can say without hesitation is the best copy I have ever seen in 25+ years of collecting.

Will be supplied with Heavyweight Plastic Sleeve for the Gatefold Cover and the LP's will be packed out of the cover in clean white inner sleeves and cardboard outer sleeves and then inserted in polythene covers to protect your investment and mailed in a Professional Mailer surrounded by heavy-duty cardboard to ensure it arrives with you in the same condition as it leaves me.

In summary this is a museum quality true collectors piece of a 44 year old classic!

Strictly for the Hendrix Connoisseur!

From my own personal collection assembled over 25+ years with constant upgrading whenever available so this is a unique opportunity to acquire a pristine example of  a RARE and COLLECTIBLE LP that has been lovingly cared for.

All LP covers were stored in the highest quality plastic sleeves and the records stored in separate archival white inners out of the cover to prevent damage to the original sleeves and ring wear of the record through to the original cover.

Lots of rarities will be listed over the coming weeks and you will be hard pressed to improve on these as I was relentless in the pursuit of the finest examples at whatever cost!!!!!

THIS IS A REAL ONCE IN A LIFETIME OPPORTUNITY. ONCE THEY'RE GONE, THEY'RE GONE!
