Description
This is the 1968 Jimi Hendrix vinyl LP titled "Axis: Bold As Love" on the Reprise label. Catalog number RS6281, a first pressing Stereo release.
I purchased the record new. It has been played exclusively on high end turntables and has a very clean surface. The label is in near mint condition with only hand written check marks before two of the titles on side 1 (see pictures). This 47-year-old record is relatively free of surface noise normally heard on older records except for some typical “stylus on vinyl” sounds heard mostly between songs and there are no skips. This is a great sounding record at high volume.
This is a beautiful gatefold jacket in near mint condition inside and out except for two small staple holes at the left front where the record store had attached the price tag (see pictures). The jacket seams are perfect.
The original inner sleeve with ads for other Reprise releases is intact with only a small seam split at the bottom center.
This is a beautiful record suitable for framing.
I will pack the record outside of the jacket to protect jacket integrity and ship in a sturdy LP mailer with cardboard inserts and bubble wrap for further protection.
