Jethro Tull's first LP-length epic is a masterpiece in the annals of progressive rock, and one of the few works of its kind that still holds up decades later.
Mixing hard rock and English folk music with classical influences, set to stream-of-consciousness lyrics so dense with imagery that one might spend weeks pondering their meaning -- assuming one feels the need to do so -- the group created a dazzling tour de force, at once playful, profound, and challenging, without overwhelming the listener.
The original LP was the best-sounding, best-engineered record Tull had ever released, easily capturing the shifting dynamics between the soft all-acoustic passages and the electric rock crescendos surrounding them

This is one of finest albums in the Tull catalogue in terms of production and engineering and these first presses deliver sensational sound - deep, rich, warm and finely detailed and the record shows little signs of ever being played.
My play-check at loud volume confirmed no major audible distractions - just the occasional one-off tick - to remind you it's vinyl - impossibly minor and non-intrusive and I did not clean this copy as it seemed unnecessary so these may well disappear after a clean/few spins - a really fine example of this amazing piece of work - the cleanest copy I have heard in a long time
NEWSPAPER SLEEVE: EXCELLENT
Clean and fresh and unmarked (neither the join-the-dots not the crossword puzzle have been filled in). The inner pages are firmly attached and apart from the expected age yellowing are like-new. The edges of the cover show rub and there is slight loss to the top spine corner but overall a really fine example
