VINYL/JACKET GRADING SYSTEM
Near Mint (N/M)
Vinyl is in near mint condition. There may be very minor light paper sleeve scuffs, but it should play without minimal surface noise. The record jacket should also be in near mint condition with only minor signs of wear. (A grade of N/M- will be slightly below this description).
Excellent (EX)
Vinyl may have some minor surface scuffs, but they should not affect the sound quality. The record jacket may have some minor ring wear but it should be mostly in excellent shape. (A grade of EX+ will be slightly above this description and EX-, slightly below).
Very Good+
(VG+) Vinyl may have some surface noise, and may show some wear, including surface scuffs and some light scratches, but should be very listenable. The record jacket should be strong, although there may be wear to the seams.
Very Good
(VG) Vinyl may not look great, but still plays well. Surface noise will probably be present, including some pops and clicks. The jacket may have seam splitting, and ring wear, but should still be in very good condition.(A grade of VG- would be slightly below this description).
Good
(G) Vinyl has been played many times and looks it. However, the record should still play without skipping. It will have surface noise. The record jacket may have seam splits and/or tears. (A grade of G+ will be slightly above this description , and G-, slight below).
Fair/Poor
(F/P) Vinyl will have substantial surface noise and possible skips. The jacket may have multiple tears and splits.
