JERRY LEE LEWIS LP 1959 (LONDON HA-S 2138) G/VG VERY RARE 1st LP!!!

Very rare and collectable Jerry Lee Lewis debut album released in 1959 on the London record label and in good to very good condition.

I have graded the vinyl as “Good” because of a scratch between tracks 5 & 6 on Side 1.  If it wasn’t for this it would have been “Very 

Good to Excellent”.  The scratch is not through the grooves but around in a complete circle and just as the 

track “Ubangi Stomp” is finishing.  This is audible as distortion/crackle for approx 4 seconds and the music ends just after the scratch.   

I mention this as I do not want to deceive but I still think this is a great sounding LP for its 56 years!

I try to be as honest with my grading of vinyl as possible and would never offer albums or singles that were anything less than in good condition (using the Record Collector Magazine 

Grading System as my guide – see below).  I clean (if required) and then play all the albums and singles I offer on e-bay before listing them.

Also, I supply a number of good quality photographs whenever possible. You need have no doubt what you are bidding on after checking these out.

All albums and 12" singles are sent out in card mailers with strong stiffeners.

Condition of vinyl: In very good to excellent condition and plays perfectly with only a very minor deterioration in sound quality evident. There is a 

scratch though which I have explained above.

Matrix Numbers: AYL-1024-2B, AYL-1025-1B

Condition of labels: In excellent condition with only minor spindle wear evident!

Condition of cover: The front laminated flipback sleeve is in very good condition with only minor signs of wear and discolouration evident. The front of the 

sleeve still has a bright and vibrant sheen to it with only very minor signs of creasing and discolouration evident.  The back of the cover has discoloured over 

the years but nothing too major for a 56 year old album!  

Record Collector Magazine Grading System:

MINT The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in 

perfect condition. Records advertised as sealed or un-played should be Mint. 

EXCELLENT The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing. 

VERY GOOD The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. 

Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, 

scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
