Ready to retire by 1954, Crosby assembled Buddy Cole his Trio and re-recorded many of his early hits between April and June 1954. The original Decca masters were used for his hits, starting with the 1938 recording of "Small Fry." Bing narrates between each track, creating an engaging, autobiographical listening experience!
BOX & COVER IN BEAUTIFUL NEAR MINT CONDITION - Some "yellowing" on back and on spine. Lock and hinges in NM condition. PLEASE SEE PHOTOS!
- Includes original "DECCA RECORDS" retail cardboard shipping box (see photos)- including "Decca- 20 years" logo and sticker- SUPER RARE and emphasizes the superb condition of the entire package!
- Also includes original, working key for box (see photos)
- Includes original, green 1954 Decca consumer postcard
VINYL IN ABSOLUTELY STUNNING NEAR MINT CONDITION (all 5 LPs)! ENTIRE SET WAS RECENTLY PLAYED THROUGH ON MY PROJECT TURNTABLE FOR DIGITAL TRANSFER.
Beautiful dynamics in classic Decca mono style. This set was personally owned by a former Decca employee until 2019. Judging by the exemplary condition, the set, presumably, remained "untouched" in its shipping box until that time- perhaps played once before being stored away. As noted above, the entire set was played through on my equipment for digital transfer and to check for overall quality (FIVE STARS)!
Includes the Crosby classics:
WHITE CHRISTMAS / WHERE THE BLUE OF THE NIGHT MEETS THE GOLD OF THE DAY / TOO-RAL-LOO / SWINGING ON A STAR / YOU ARE MY SUNSHINE / WHEN IRISH EYES ARE SMILING / McNAMARA'S BAND / MEXICALI ROSE / DON'T FENCE ME IN / DEEP IN THE HEAR OF TEXAS / SMALL FRY / I SURRENDER DEAR / SILENT NIGHT / MUDDY WATER / BLUE SKIES / PISTOL PACKIN' MAMA.....and many more!
This is set a rare gem and a "must-have" for any serious collector or music fan! Although copies do exist (even here on Ebay), they are RARELY AVAILABLE IN THIS GORGEOUS, NEAR MINT CONDITION!!!!
Please examine the photos and feel free to inquire with any questions.
