Description

LABEL/Catalog No.:  Clef MG Vol. 16.  Released in 1954 or 55.  4 record box set; (3x 12", 1x 10"), all 33rpm.  Includes full packaging and all inserts:  JATP program, folio of 13 photographs of the featured artists: Ray Brown, Benny Carter, Roy Eldridge, Herb Ellis, Bill Harris, J.C. Heard, Oscar Peterson, Flip Philips, Gene Krupa, Charlie Shavers, Willie Smith, Ben Webster, and Lester Young.  Photos (mostly shot by Herman Leonard) are on thick stock and are like new; stored in original, large envelope, which has handwritten note on one side.   Cover illustration by David Stone Martin.

CONDITION:  records are NM (10"), and NM, NM, and Ex-vg+ (12").  Note;  one of the 12" 'NM' records has dimples on both sides due to a pressing defect. (plays but with noise).  The records look virtually unplayed; vinyl is thick and rigid.  The box rates vg+, (top side corners are split due to weight of box).  Front cover with illustration is Ex and still attached to back side; spine has some delamination and small chipping in parts.  The program is Ex-vg+ (spine wear, but not splitting)   And the envelope and photos are NM.  I grade records and covers conservatively, and visually under 100-125 watt light. Grading scale for records and covers: M-NM, NM, Ex, vg+, vg, good, fair, poor.  For a record of average condition, I assign a grade of vg+-vg.

SHIPPING: $4.00 media mail, $34.00 first class mail to anywhere in the world, $17.00 Canada. Note: I live on West Coast, media mail will take 6-9 days to get to East Coast.  Buyers in Italy add $29.00 for express mail.
