QUIERO BEBER / QUE ME IMPORTA ... 7-inch, 45rpm single by JAVIER VAZQUEZ Y SU SALSA canta CHITO produced by JOE CAIN. Original US pressing on the ALEGRE label (3854), from 1975. Desirable and super-obscure Nuyorican latin grail by the legendary Puerto Rican pianist, Javier Vazquez with group. Features his QUIERO BEBER club tune... a fabulous example of the salsa genre and arguably his rarest recording (on 7-inch format, for sure). Infectious piano vamps / big montuno bassline / fantastic horn section and rhythms / percussion breakdowns and solos with lead vocals by Chito. Great for DJs. Hot item with latin collectors as the track is said to be from an unreleased Alegre label Lp called Yo Creo En Musica. Superb production by Joe Cain (of Morris Levy's Tico label fame). Seldom comes up for sale. Guaguanco and Latin soul at its best. Very rare 45!!!
Our record grading: SEALED / M- / VG++ / VG+ / VG
Vinyl is closer to shiny M- condition overall with a few hairlines from sleeve removal. Superb production sound. Some light surface noises. A few faded, old pressing residue marks. Taken from an unplayed deadstock of records and played once for the recording of the soundclip. Pen 'X' notation to one side of label. Record housed in generic white card sleeve. Very rare 45!!!
