Janne Andersson is quite a prolific person within Swedish punk rock and power pop. He released the first Swedish punk rock single with his band Four Mandarines (yes, before Kriminella Gitarrer), then he turned to power pop on the bands second single, released as Mandarines. During that period he was briefly also a member of The Pain. Then he teamed up with Dan Sundqvist from Reeperbahn for his solo outfit Janne Andersson Pop (or later Japop). His/their first album is a forgotten power pop classic and deserves recognition. Great songs, powerful guitar playing, high energy, sometimes raw, sometimes sensitive without getting too wimpy. Just like a great power pop record should be..
Most of the records I post are insanely rare and released in numbers of 300 to 1000 copies.
