Jan & Dean - Audition lp
This is Jan & Dean's first record on the Liberty label, three years after their debut on the Dore label. (The Jan & Dean Sound 1960) This record has several unique features. First, it is an Audition Record. It has an audition record label, and also a red "audition record" stamp on the back of jacket. The second feature is although the actual title on the front and back cover is "Jan & Dean Take Linda Surfin', on the spine it is listed as Mr. Bass Man Takes Linda Surfin'. At any rate, it is their first release on the Liberty label, and is in excellent condition.

GRADING: primarily grade my records visually, based on the Goldsmith rating system of Mint, Near Mint, Very Good Plus, Very Good, Good, and Poor. Questionable marks and scratches are usually tested on a turntable and noted in the listing. I try to err on the conservative side in my grading; but since it is not an exact science, there are bound to be differing opinions as to what constitutes a certain grade. Suffice it to say that I strive to be as honest as possible in my listings, as I plan on selling records, etc. for the long haul and I am not interested in ripping anyone off. That being said, I would add that the time for questions is DURING the auction, not after. I will be happy to respond to any email as soon as possible.
