'Yer Album'
ABC, USA, 1969
ABCS 688-B
DEBUT ALBUM from these Cleveland blues rock power trio reprobates featuring master axeman Joe Walsh plank spanking his way into the history books. They whip up a solid sound alright; thick and juicy just the way we like our late sixties blues and Walsh rises to the occassion in mighty fine style. The emphasis is on the emerging hard rock sound of the early seventies but retaining a resounding late sixties drugged-out bombast. Think SRC jamming with Mountain whilst Cream pop around for tea and cake. Super fuzzed lead guitar and thick pounding drum and bass.
Contains some pretty long well executed tracks such as the 6 minute 'Take A Look Around' and 'Bluebird' (written by Stephen Stills), the nine minute 'Lost Woman' (originally penned and performed by the Yardbirds) and the mega opus 'Stop' which weighs in at a cozy twelve minutes alowing Walsh to really go off on this one - if you've never heard this track go find it on youTube, you'll be blown away!
