Description
This is a fine copy from a 1998 reissue (per Discogs) on the Polydor label of a 1969 LP by James Brown. Brown's LPs through the '60s tended to be hodgepodges of singles and LP tracks in different styles (R&B, soul -- later funk -- and straight pop), sometimes padded with previously released material. This LP is characteristic in this regard: it features the epochal title track and "Licking Stick," both top 15 pop hits, and #1 and #2 R&B chart hits, respectively, and is rounded out with some R&B and orchestrated pop. The jacket is close to pristine with a little light creasing (M-). The disc is clean with some fingerprints and light scuffing on side 1, and plays close to M- with occasional light surface noise (EX+). The disc labels on this copy are reversed (the side 1 label appears on the second side of the disc and vice versa).
I’m in the process of selling off a large personal collection amassed over two decades. All discs have been stored in plastic lined inner sleeves separate from their jackets. The jackets have been stored in plastic sleeves. I have play graded (spot checked) discs except where otherwise noted.
