Description

JAMES BROWN & HIS FAMOUS FLAMES - LIVE AT THE APOLLO LP (KING 826 MONO) WHITE LABEL PR/DJ Specially banded for airplay version, made available soon after the retail 1st pressing late 1962 / early 1963. Hands down the rarest edition of this LP. Can't find another copy of this for sale ANYWHERE.

Sticker on front cover reads: "This is special of D.J. LP of James Brown -- Live at the Apollo Theater King LP 826. Original is non-band continuous. This special programming aid is broken down into segments for lazy programming. The spirals between segments contain applause etc."

Record is in VG- condition. Plays through with not much surface noise. Tested on two different turntables. First listen, I detected one skip on side 1. On another player, it played thru fine with No skips, only a couple pops. Sounds fantastic overall in glorious MONO. Labels look beautiful (see pic).

Cover is G- due to top & bottom seam splits clean from one end to the other. Spine is intact, which is nice. The front & back cover both look great. No writing, only slight discoloration from age and minor ringwear. minor corner dings, no bends. Note it is the 1st edition photo+liners paste-on back, not the more common 'ads' back cover.
