Description

“BLUESNIK” - JACKIE McLEAN QUINTET:
SUPERB ORIGINAL BLUE NOTE 4067 (MONO) RARE!

Selling on behalf of my husband:

THIS COMES FROM MY OWN PERSONAL COLLECTION

This rare mono disc was bought by me as an American Import from Dobells in the Charing X Road, London in the early 60's, - I have owned it from new.

The cover and inner sleeve are in near-perfect condition and the disc itself is almost immaculate. The label shows the 47 West 63rd Street address. The deadwax carries the impression ‘RVG’ and also has ‘GM’ hand-inscribed on both sides (whatever that signifies!).

The disc features a brilliant line-up of jazz greats:
Jackie McLean (alto), Freddie Hubbard (trumpet), Kenny Drew (piano),
Doug Watkins (bass) and Pete La Roca (drums).

The tracks are ‘Bluesnik’, ‘Goin' Way Blues’, ‘Drew's Blues’,
‘Cool Green’, ‘Blues Function’ and ‘Torchin'’

A SIMILAR ONE WAS SOLD RECENTLY – THIS IS PROBABLY ONE OF A VERY FEW OTHER DECENT COPIES AROUND!!!

I’ve lots more “Blue Notes” from the same source in my own collection, so watch this space!

THANKS FOR YOUR INTEREST!
