JACKIE MCLEAN “One Step Beyond” Blue Note RVG, BST 84137 Stereo Vinyl

This is “Van Gelder” stamped pressing of JACKIE MCLEAN’s “One Step Beyond” on the "Liberty Records” labels of Blue Note BST 84137. Musicians include Jackie McLean, Grachan Moncur III, Bobby Hutcherson, Eddie Khan, Tony Williams.

VINYL infrequently plays with very low-level surface noise, with occasional pops and ticks. But ensemble sections are very clear, dynamic and strong. Plays beautifully overall with the occasional pop or tick.  No distortion. No skips. Excellent gloss. A few hairline marks, none feelable. (If you can’t feel it, you won’t hear it). The “Liberty Records” labels are clean. Original inner sleeve included. See photos.

COVER is in excellent shape. Corners worn. Seams and spine shows cracking, some splits. “BLUE NOTE RECORDS INC., 43 West 61st St., New York 23” back jacket is mostly clean, some ringwear, tape mark. See photos.

     

This LP was play-tested on a high-end audio system. RECORD CLEANED ON ULTRASONIC CLEANER.
