It's A Beautiful Day - S/T (1969) | 1st PRESS "360 SOUND" | MINTY EX/NM | Matrix XSM138933
The Definitive 1969 First Pressing
Up for auction is a museum-grade copy of one of the most iconic debuts in psychedelic rock history. This is the original 1969 US first pressing on the Columbia "Two-Eye" label, featuring the legendary white-text "360 SOUND" STEREO branding.
True 1st State Label: Unlike the common 1970s reissues with orange rim-text, this features the original 1969 "Two-Eye" design. This is the version preferred by audiophiles for its superior early-mastering warmth.
Elite Cover Art: Housed in the original Globe Propaganda gatefold jacket. Designed by George Hunter and Kent Hollister, this artwork is ranked #24 on Rolling Stone’s 100 Greatest Album Covers. The colors on this copy remain incredibly vibrant with no major fading.
Matrix / Runout Identifiers: Precision-stamped Matrix XSM138933 in the dead wax, confirming this as a genuine early strike from the original master.
Condition :
Vinyl (EX/NM): The disc retains its deep, mirror-like factory luster. Visually beautiful with only the most microscopic paper scuffs visible under direct strobe light. No deep scratches, no "feelable" marks, and no spindle trails on the labels. It plays with the clarity and power that only a clean first pressing can deliver.
Jacket (EX): Sharp corners, a perfectly legible spine, and no "ring wear" (the circular fading common to this album). The gatefold interior is clean and crisp.
Investment Potential:
With the passing of time, finding the "360 Sound" 1st pressing in this high-tier condition is becoming nearly impossible. This is a "final upgrade" copy for a permanent collection.
Shipping: I am a collector myself. Your record will be removed from the jacket to prevent seam splits, placed in a new anti-static inner sleeve, and shipped in a heavy-duty, reinforced oversized LP mailer.
