Description

I've had this tape for a year or two but have only played it partially once to insure that the recording is intact, basically a safety check; however, that means I cannot claim that it is "New".
I'm offering it up for auction because I don't have much storage room for R2R tapes and need to reclaim a little. This is MA Recordings #MA024A Ultimate Analog Tape Edition, Ito Ema playing Bach's Goldberg Variations, stored in a handmade [delicate] wooden box with gold lettering in both English and Japanese.
It's a 2-track stereo tape dubbed at 15ips with IEC (not NAB) EQ. I am having a one-day auction before the holidays really descend on me so, yes, it has a fairly low reserve price as a practical necessity. So far as I know, the R2R version of this recording is out of print.
Here is a brief history of the recording ...
"When Todd Garfinkle made the recording of Ito Ema playing Bach's Goldberg Variations, he had two complete recording chains in place - one pair of handmade, titanium capsule battery powered, line-level output mics for the digital chain and a pair of Bruel and Kjær 4006 mikes for the 1/2 inch analog tape version into a Studer A820 Master Recorder with 1/2-inch head assembly. The tape used was 3M 996 at 30ips."--https://www.whatsbestforum.com/threads/first-reel-to-reel-title-from-ma-recordings.18376/
