It Still Lives...old time blue ridge mountain music by traditional instrument makers, released by Foxfire Records (001) out of Rabun Gap, Georgia in 1980.

*A 20-page booklet of interviews and descriptive notes are enclosed. The story behind this one-of-a-kind LP is completely unbelievable. You have to read this (from the notes on the back cover), "This recording features music and oral narratives by four traditional instrument makers from Watauga County, North Carolina. Tedra Harmon, Stanley Hicks, Leonard and Clifford Glenn are all neighbors and friends, they all play music and they all make banjos and dulcimers according to the skills and patterns passed along through the years by relatives and neighbors....This recording is the result of many months of effort by the Foxfire students and Rabun County High School in rural north Georgia. Students first interviewed Stanley, Tedra and Leonard for a special publication on instrument makers in the 1974 issue of Foxfire magazine. The material was later included in Foxfire 3, published by Doubleday / Anchor Press in 1975. The students, curious about the music that came from these homemade instruments, made another visit to the homes of these craftsmen and made the field recordings featured here. The cover, design, layout, editing, mixing, and other production work was all done by high school students in the Foxfire record production class."*

The Record is in Sealed condition. About 3-inches in the middle are unsealed, but the rest is sealed tight. The record looks to be in wonderful condition, but it does show some minor edge wear.

International bidders, please keep in mind that once you go over 4 pounds (roughly 4 LPs), 1st Class International is no longer an option, and you must ship priority.

Insurance is your option as a buyer. International bidders, please keep in mind that you can only purchase insurance through the USPS if you ship express mail, which is very expensive. Please contact me if you would prefer this option. Otherwise, your record cannot be insured.
