Description
This is an authentic original copy of The Beatles INTRODUCING THE BEATLES on Vee Jay LP 1062. The lp here is authentic with AUDIO MATRIX in the dead wax and lists P.S. LOVE YOU and LOVE ME DO with VEE JAY in an oval at the top of the label and INTRODUCING THE BEATLES and THE BEATLES both printed ABOVE the spindle hole. Also included is an original VEE JAY inner sleeve. There are 2 covers included here, both mono, both column back listing P.S. I LOVE YOU and LOVE ME DO. One is in good condition with writing on JOHN, GOERGE and RINGO’S face as pics show. The other is near mint but does NOT have the ¼ inch tabs on the inside. I contacted Beatles afficianado Perry Cox about this and he confirmed that there were some original real covers that did not have tabs. Here is some info about INTRODUCING covers from this web site http://www.eskimo.com/~bpentium/beatles/intro/intro.html: Although color shades do vary on originals, the printing of the photo and text is always very sharp and clear. Any with poor quality printing are probably counterfeits. All legitimate covers are made using varying shades of gray or tan cardboard, with the printed front and back slicks bonded on them. All original covers we have seen have a 1/4" overlap of cardboard at the top and bottom of the inside cover. This check can only be made by viewing the inside of the cover at the top and at the bottom. On most fakes, these overlaps are either much larger than 1/4", or there is no flap at all. The California plant made a small quantity of original monaural covers that have no flap at all, but they still have the glossy back cover slick as well as high quality printing. Also, these come with an authentic disc inside, yet another way to help determine originality. i am listing many more Beatles records.
