The Beatles "Introducing The Beatles" with STICKER featuring "Twist And Shout and Please, Please Me"
This is a US vinyl pressing of the first US Beatles album on Vee Jay Records. It is VJ 1062, in Mono, with Version 2 songs, released in 1964. This has the very hard to find sticker, stuck to the front cover, that says "featuring Twist And Shout and Please, Please Me". The sticker is 4 inches wide by 2 1/4 inches tall. It has a white background, with red border and the song titles are in purple. It is on an original version 2 glossy cover. The song titles are in columns on the back, with Ask Me Why and Please Please Me listed. The cover is constucted with 1/4 inch flaps inside at the top and at the bottom. The cover is made of brown cardboard. George's shadow is clearly vistble to his right. It has the title and record number printed on the spine. It has a number " 2 " printed on the back cover, at the bottom right, after the words : "America's Greatest Recording Artists Are On Vee-Jay Records". I have never seen this on any other "Introducing The Beatles" cover. The record comes in a Vee-Jay inner sleeve that advertises their other albums. The record label has Vee -Jay Records under the initials V J. It's the all black label with silver print. The title and artists are printed above the spindle hole. The label lists and the record plays "Ask Me Why and Please Please Me". The trail off area is exactly 7/8 inch wide on both sides. There is an MR inside a cirlce in the trail off area. The matrix numbers are A-side : 63-3402 and a triangle followed by 6307. And B-side 63-3403 and a triangle followed by 6307 X. This is an original record inside an original cover. The vinyl looks VG. It still has some gloss. There are no major scratches. There are short tiny marks and light scuffs. It plays VG. There are no skips or loud pops. There is light background static heard during quiet passages and light static heard between songs. The cover is VG. There are no seam splits or seam wear. There are 2 nicks on the top spine and 2 nicks at the bottom of the left spine. The lower right corner is bumped 1/2 inch and the lower left corner is bumped 1/8 inch. The worst problem on this cover is the writing. It has a name written in pink ink. Then someone else has scribbled over this in blue ink. It is to the right of George and it is 1 1/2 inch long by 1/4 inch wide. I do not believe this will ever come off. There is no writing anywhere else. The sticker on the front has a little brown showing through at it's top left corner. The labels are VG with no writing or tears, but small spindle marks. The inner sleeve is VG+ with no tape or splits.
The songs are : I Saw Here Standing There, Misery, Anna, Chains, Boys, Ask Me Why, Please Please Me, Baby It's You, Do You Want To Know A Secret, A Taste Of Honey, There's A Place, and Twist And Shout.
I have been buying and selling records for more than 20 years. I sell records at all Northwest record comventions and at Crossroads Music in Portland, Oregon. I do not smoke and there are no pets in my house.
I will package this record between two pieces of 1/2 inch thick cardboard. (It's so thick that you will save it and use it again. The post office clerks tell me that I have the best packaged records they have ever seen.) You can figure out your own postage costs for US Priority or Air Letter Post for overseas. This package will weigh 25 ounces ( 1 pound, 9 ounces ) when ready to ship. There are NO handling fees. Insurance is optional. I will ship the record next to the cover, not inside it. I will send it as soon as you pay. (same day if before 2 PM and next day if after 2 PM) I will combine postage if you win more than one item.
