Now then! Here we go ...
The VERY much sought after Soundhouse Tapes seven inch, three track, single, by the legendary IRON MAIDEN, here, for you, yes ... YOU !!!
Released independently, on their very own ROCK HARD RECORDS, wayyyyy back in 1979, this is IT ... this is ... THE ONE ... THIS COULD BE YOURS !!!
Tracks are as follows ;
Side One : Iron Maiden.
Side Two : Invasion.
Prowler.
Now, what follows is as much information as i can muster from my grey matter, so ... PLEASE READ BEFORE ASKING A QUESTION !!!
Okay, honesty is a very important thing, so, that said, here goes ...
1 : The winner of this SPLENDID item will be, to my knowledge, the THIRD person to own it`s MAJESTICNESS !
2 : I purchased this myself in 1986 for £45 from Revolution Records in Huddersfield, who, themselves, bought it from a seller in Record Collector Magazine, on my behalf. I paid about £2 a week, from my Y.T.S. wage, (Cheers `Thatcher, YOU BITCH!), for what seemed like an eternity! Just turning up to Revolution each week to just ... hold it, & feel it`s ... AWESOMENESS ... was ... ENOUGH ... to get me through to that final payment!
3 : This particular version, PRE-DATES, all copies with a cover, as the pic above explains, this is what was sent out BEFORE the covers were printed. In fact, i`ve seen copies of the note ITSELF go for £15 on e-bay! Probably photo-copies, but, who am i to say???
4 : Information time ...
The code on this is ROK 1.
Run-out grooves info, Side One : *EG* ... SA ...ROK - 1 - A ...
Run-out grooves info, Side Two : *EG* ... SA ... ROK - 1 - B ...
5 : I`ve played this myself once only, VERY carefully, & put it onto cassette. There were no jumps etc JUST a few crackles before the songs started, it could`ve been static, but, i`m just telling you what i know.
6 : Just going by the weight of the single, you can TELL it`s an original, as compared to other singles i have, the weight difference is OBVIOUS !!!
So, there you go! If you`re wondering why i`m selling it, i believe it`s time to pass the mantle on to the next generation ...
