Description

This is an auction for a rare box set by Iron Maiden, The First Ten Years- Up The Irons.

This was released by EMI records in 1990 and has no catalogue number. Making this item very rare is the fact this could only be purchased by collecting tokens from other Iron Maiden records and sending them of to receive this box set. So mail order only. The box contains 10 x 12" double packs.

The following is pictured on supersize, please check the pictures as well as the description for clarification on condition.

Condition: The box has some scuffing to the edges and corners, the box seperates in two halves. The top half of the box has split in the bottom right corner down the edge. There is also a few discreet discolour marks seen on the front. The bottom section of the box is fine with no tears to the textured cover or edge splits.

The following are all double packs.

1. Running Free, Sanctuary, IRN1, The gatefold sleeve has five small edge creases along the spine and one fingering indentation at the mouth, otherwise it is as new and graded at Near Mint.

The labels are both brand new with no spindle marks being seen even under the closest of examinations, the centre holes are perfect and show no sign of wear, infact these still have the platic shvings from pressing covering part of each hole, this indicates that they have probably never seen a spindle.

Vinyl: Both records retain there brand new rainbow shine, Under very close examination a few tiny feather scratches can be seen, these will be non-audible and as stated only seen under the strongest of lights. Both records are harshly down-graded to Near Mint despite this probably never being played and looking brand new.

2. Women In Uniform, Twilight Zone, IRN2, The gatefold sleeve is in fantastic condition with only a mere touch of buffing to the bottom two corners, being really fussy, graded at Near Mint+.

The labels on Women In Uniform have a few spindle on each side but are otherwise clean, the centre hole is perfect and shows no sign of wear. the labels on Twilight Zone are brand new with no spindle marks and plastic overlapping the centre hole indicating this one has not been played.

Vinyl, Women In Uniform, retains its new shine, it has some feather scratches seen under very close examination and one long feather scratch that can be seen in normel light. I have given this a test play and it is perfect with no feckling what so ever, I assume that because its only been played a few times it has very little, if any, lessening in sound quality with  no scratches being audible. This one is graded at Near Mint.

Twilight Zone, This one is simply Mint, no marks, scratches or blemishes what so ever. This one is brand new and graded at Mint.

3. Purgatory, Maiden Japan, IRN3. The gatefold sleeve is exactly as the one above and graded at a fussy Near Mint+

Both of these records are Mint. No spindle marks on labels, immaculate vinyl, I doubt these have ever seen a spindle. You can not get any better. Both records are graded at Mint.

4. Run To The Hills, Number Of The Beast, IRN4. The gatefold sleeve is new with perhaps the lightest touch of buffing in the very corners, this is being ultra fussy as this is probably the way it has been since brand new. This sleeve is graded at Near Mint+.

The label on Run To The Hills has perhaps 3 tiny spider spndle marks side 1, it has 1 on side 2, the centre hole is perfect and shows no sign of wear.

The label on the other record has 1 tiny spider spindle mark on side 2, none on side 1. The centre hole is perfect and shows no sign of wear.

The vinyl on both records has a few tiny feather scratches, again these can only be seen under the strongest of lights. These retain there brand new rainbow shine and play perfectly with no lessening in sound quality. These two are graded at a fussy Near Mint.

5. Flight Of Icarus, The Trooper, IRN5. This gatefold sleeve is mint no faults.

The label on the Trooper shows perhaps 2 tiny spider spindle marks on side 1 and none on side 2, the centre hole is perfect and shows no sign of wear.

Flight Of Icarus appears to be completely unplayed with no spindle marks seen. The centre hole is perfect with overlapping plastic still covering part of the centre hole.

Vinyl. The Trooper has one tiny scratch seen under very close examination, this is of course non-audible and as stated only seen under a very strong light. Both sides retain there brand new rainbow shine and play perfectly with no lessening in sound quality. This one is graded at Near Mint.

Flight Of Icarus is brand new with no signs of ever being played, immaculate and graded at Mint.

6. 2 Minutes To Midnight, Aces High, IRN6. Possibly the worse one in terms of condition, the gatefold has one crease to the right corner, two other small creases by the spine and heavy buffing to the bottom left corner, otherwise as new and graded at an ultra fussy VG+. pictured below you may see a couple of very faint dirt marks on this sleeve, these have been removed leaving no mark what so ever,

Both records are immaculate, no spindle marks on any label, perfect centre holes, vinyl flawless. Both records are graded at Mint.

7. Running Free, Run To The Hills, IRN7. A mere touch of buffing to the top left corner being the only ridiculous fault I can find. This I can assure you would be ignored by most traders and simply graded at Mint, Being accurate it is infact Near Mint+.

Simply brand new, no spindle marks on either record, vinyl immaculate, centre holes perfect. I doubt these two have ever been played. These two are both graded at Mint.

8. Waisted Years, Stranger In A Strange Land, IRN8. Top left corner on this gatefold has a little buffing, this has taken a little knock as there is a tiny bend to this corner. Otherwise as new and graded at Near Mint.

They don't come any better, Mint all the way, no spindle marks, overlapping plastic in centre holes, vinyl flawless, Unplayed, both graded at Mint.

9. Can I Play With Madness, The Evil that Men Do, IRN9. This gatefold comes in its original shrink wrap, the slight bending, pictured below, to the top of the sleeve would be removed if the shrink wrap was removed as it is tight and causing the curving. This sleeve is graded at Mint.

Once again Mint all the way, no faults, no signs of ever being played, no spindle marks, vinyl flawless and brand new. Both records are graded at Mint.

10. The Clairvoyant, Infinite Dreams, IRN10. The gatefold has 4 tiny creases along the top and side edge and the lightest amount of buffing you could imagine to the corners, otherwise perfect and graded at Near Mint.

The Clairvoyant labels have perhaps one tiny spindle mark on side 1 and none on side 2. There are also two finger marks on side 2s label. The centre hole is perfect and shows no sign of wear.

Infinite Dreams have two tiny spider spindle marks on side 1 and one on side 2, the centre hole is perfect and shows no sign of wear.

The vinyl, the Clairvoyant has some very light circular scratches seen on the last part of this record. I have given this a play and I am pleased to report that these are completely non-audible. This plays as brand new with no lessening in sound quality. This one is graded at Near Mint.

Infinite Dreams has one tiny visible scratch and a few feather scratches seen under a very strong light. I gave this a spin also and like the record above it plays perfectly with no lessening in sound quality. This is also graded at Near Mint.

All records above come with there original inner sleeves which are also immaculate. The only other temporary fault not reported above is that on two or three LPs need their glued edge re-glued back down.

A stunning collection, you will be hard pressed to find this box sets contents in any better condition.
