“INGLATERRA A GO-GO”

“Vol. III”

MEGARARE original Sample ODEON Records (an EMI company) very first MONO press released in Chile in 1968 by Indistrias Eléctricas Y Musicales Odeon, S.A. Records, catalog number LDC-36653, with machine etched matrix number XChiX 35729 and X1 (“X1” or “AH”?) 1 AT 12 o’clock in Side 1 and XChiX 35730 and AA (“11”?) 1 at 12 o’clock in Side 2, with dark purple Odeon labels and silver lettering.

“INGLATERRA A GO-GO VOL.3” is a compilation record only released in Chile as part of the “SERIE ESTELAR” (Stellar Serie) of Odeon/EMI Records in 1968. This record is UNIQUE, only released in Chile, with the normal cover of that period, made of 2 single sheets of paper partially pasted on a thin cardboard kept all together by an outer plastic bag which’s part of the cover. But the real importance of this record is that it’s the first time a song by Pink Floyd (credited in the record THE PINK FLOYD) was released in Chile. We would have to wait until early 70s to see an album by Pink Floyd released here in Chile. Front cover has an original artwork that you can see in the pictures and in back cover is the tracklist with promotional pictures of other 9 records with the title “Grandes Exitos A Go-Go En Estos Discos” (Big A Go-Go Hits In These Records): Lulu, The Turtles, The Rolling Stones, The Hollies, The Dave Clarck Five, Herman’s Hermits and others. It’s interesting to see that in front cover the title of the album is “VOL. 3” but in the title is written “VOL. III”. The tracklist in back cover is in Spanish, translated to English, with credits for each song, but in labels the tracklist is in English only but with credits for each song too.

As I have told, the importance of this record is in the fact it’s the first time a song by Pink Floyd was released here in Chile: “SEE EMILY PLAY” and it’s in MONO!!! WOW!!! The cover was already described and it’s in VG+ or EX- condition for both sides, clean and with no ring marks or blemishes, complete but with a tiny bit missing at the right side of front cover, with a number written in both front and back cover. The interesting thing of this record is that some past owner did a personal plastic bag to protect the sheets which for the cover and he/she decided to leave the top side as mouth for the record. I think the plastic bag has really worked. The record is thick and it’s in strong VG or VG+ condition, glossy and clean, but some scuffs and hairlines and some light scratches, which don’t affect play at all. Labels are in VG+ or EX- condition, clean and clear but the number written on the cover was also written in labels and then someone else put another number on a white sticker on SIDE 1, not a good idea, but the numbers are there. The sound is the best part, it’s in EX or EX+ condition the Side 1, with only some light pops in “Mickey Dunne”, most of the songs play in superb NM- or NM condition, and in VG or VG+ condition the Side 2, with more evident soft crackles, but anyway the sound is loud, clear and clean, no background noise at all (surface noise is normal in records from Chile). Overall, this record is in superb condition with a very nice cover and still an amazing sound quality after more thab 40 years, with no distortions, no skips, no repetitions at all!!! And the most important, remember this record includes a MONO version of The Pink Floyd’s “See Emily Play”!!! WOW!!! What a find!!!

Bid with confidence and don’t wait until the last second because you could lose the chance to get a real collectable record from Chile (South America) in superb condition like this copy is. You know South American records aren’t easy to get in good conditions, so HAPPY BIDDING and don’t let this record to go away… you could never see a so good copy of this record again… if you are lucky enough to see even another copy again…

We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

GBP15 for weight until 1kg (usually 1 or 2 records 12" depending of thickness of the vinyl)

GBP25 for weight 1-2kg (usually 3-5 records 12")

GBP7 for one 7” record

All records will be packed outside of the sleeve to avoid damages in the cover and all records will be sent with tracking number via Small Packet or Parcel Post services.
