LP : Michael Viner's Incredible Bongo Band - “Bongo Rock”

Original German pressing from 1973 on MGM RECORDS, 2315 255. Nice fully laminated silver cover. The band was founded to write some percussive & funky music for the B-movie “The Thing With The Two Heads”. The first release was a 7” single wich became a hit: Bongo Rock '73 , a cover-version of Preston Epp's 1959 hit “Bongo Rock” ( I offer a white vinyl edition of P.Epp's full LP in my current auctions ! ). “Bongo Rock” was their first LP. Classic break-beat as used by Cool Herc, Grandmaster Flash and others. Funky stuff plus breaks, highly recommended not only for b-boys. Michael Viner used to speak of the “drum-wars” refering to the recording-sessions. You can listen to several tracks on youtube !

Condition: LP & cover are in the record looks mint- to mint-- in daylight & in normal artificial light, it looks ex+ to ex under a very strong halogen lamp. It plays in mint- all of the time. The cover shows just slight shelf- and minimal cornerwear, all seams/spine are intact without rub, the lamination is intact; overall ex+.

Zustand: die LP sieht bei Tageslicht & unter einer normalen Lampe mint- bis mint-- aus, unter einer sehr hellen Halogenlampe sieht sie ex+ bis ex aus. Sie spielt durchgehend in mint- . Das Cover hat nur leichte Lagerspuren, minimale Eckenbestossung, alle Kanten sind intakt und ohne Abrieb, die Laminierung ist intakt; insgesamt in ex+. alle Platten habe ich professionell gereinigt und angehört (meist ganz, manchmal in Ausschnitten). Kommen mit neuer Innenhülle & Schutzhülle !

Grading & Cleaning:

the record has been cleaned on my professional HANNL record cleaning machine
after that I playgraded it (completely or at least in parts) on my Rega Planar 9, Moving Coil cartridge by EINSTEIN:TU-3 Super Fine Line ( please consider that the playback might differ a bit depending on your own equipment )
I also visually graded the record in daylight, in normal artificial light & under a strong halogen lamp

only an unplayed record is mint, the highest grading for a used record is mint- ! My basic gradings are: mint – ex – vg
cleaned records are stored in a new pro innersleeve and they are placed in a PVC protection-sleeve
