"Time Is"...

After Jeff Lynne quit The Idle Race in 1970 to join former band mate Roy Wood in the Move,the 3 remaining members of The Idle Race recruited vocalist Dave Walker from the Birmingham band the Redcaps (He later played with Savoy Brown and an early 70's Fleetwood Mac line-up) and guitarist Mike Hopkins(Also Ex Redcaps...He had also been in The Lemon Tree and Copperfield..Birmingham psychey outfits)....

This line-up issued "Time Is" which met with minimal sales. It was soon deleted,never to be reissued again on vinyl...The Idle Race dis-banded....

It's REALLY hard to find!...

Issued on Regal Zonophone in May 1971...SLZA 1017...UK stereo pressing in a front textured Garrard and Lofthouse sleeve...

The matrix numbers are:

Side 1:..YCARX 73-1...

Side 2:..YCARX 74-1...

The mothers and stampers are:..

Side 1:..1/G...

Side 2:...1/G...

These are the lowest possible on an EMI pressing...It's a first pressing...(Regal was part of the EMI group!).

Each side of the record has a few light hairlines and scuffs..None of these are deep or look bad enough to affect play...

Both sides play great with no clicks or pops and a minimal (if any!) surface noise....It does'nt skip or jump...It has no edge-warps and it's not dished....If a record looks a strong VG but plays EX,what is the grade?.

The labels are undamaged with untarnished and clearly legible text...The centre holes show minimal spindle trails...

The sleeve has a few minor defects as follows:...The front (when angled to the light) shows a few splash marks (See picture)...There is wear to the opening edges...The corners are rounded...There is some rubbing to the bottom edge...There is light ring-wear both front and back...The bottom back left corner has a slight crease...VG is a fair grade for this sleeve...

A very hard to find album that plays great..A sleeve with some defects but no major damage..
