Description

  • Near mint 1955 deep groove monaural original LP “Lighthouse At Laguna” (Contemporary C 3509) featuring Howard Rumsey’s Lighthouse All-Stars (6 tracks) and The Hampton Hawes Trio (2 tracks noted by * in below tracklist).
  • The All-Stars consisted of Howard Ramsey (bass), Bud Shank (alto sax and flute), Bob Cooper (tenor sax), Frank Rosolino (trombone), Claude Williamson (piano) and Stan Levey (drums).
  • The Hampton Hawes Trio consisted of Hampton Hawes (piano), Red Mitchell (bass) and Shelly Manne (drums).
  • The tracklist is: Witch Doctor No 2/’Round About Midnight/Mood For Lighthouse/Walkin*/Blind Man’s Bluff/Lady Jean/The Champ*/Casa De Luz.
  • The LP looks and plays near mint with just some light occasional surface noise. There are two clicks at the lead-in dead wax of side 2 but after that the playback is crisp and clear. The glossy cover is also near mint with no splits, tears, writing or cutouts and just light wear and aging noted. The spine has been reinforced using archival quality, acid free clear tape.
