Description

This is a 10-inch 45 rpm aluminum core lacquer of a song that was included in the 1967 Elvis Presley film "Clambake." Publishers used to record songs to pitch to Elvis to see if he would be interested in recording them. Studio singers such as P. J. Proby were often used for this purpose. In many instances, the singer tried to sound like Elvis so Presley could hear what the record might sound like once he recorded it. This is one of those cases. The singer (who is unidentified) is obviously not Elvis but does a good job imitating him. "How Can You Lose" was written by Sid Wayne and Ben Weisman, who wrote many songs for Presley movies. The song has a nice C&W lilt to it and is actually quite enjoyable.

Disc is in near mint condition. Lacquers could not take very many plays before the surface started breaking down, so I have not played this more than one time.
