Description

This Record Album has 3 x 10" 33rpm LP records in one hard-backed album. It is in great condition, considering its age and has been well stored away from heat and light so the colours are as bright as ever, and the record discs are flat and appear to be in very good condition (I don't have a record player to play them).
Artists featured are: Sidney Bechet, Art Hodes, Wild Bill Davison, Pops Foster and Fred Moore.

It comes from my father's old record collection and has been in safe storage for many years. These are all rare classics and highly collectible. I have many more for sale so please see my other listings for more Jazz record albums.
About Record Albums In the late 1940s, the unbreakable 33 rpm record was developed as a record industry innovation. The earliest "LPs", as Long Playing records were called, revolutionised the industry, replacing the brittle 10" shellac 78s. The discs were 10" in diameter, same as the old 78s, but played at 33 rpm there was space for four songs per side. Many of the early releases were duplicates of existing four-disc 78 rpm albums, packaged in a heavy, hard-back paper booklet that resembled a photo album, hence the name "record album", a name which stuck long after the 78 disc was extinct.
These record albums are heavy (most are over 1kg). For this reason, and the risk of damage, I would prefer collection in person. If you would like it sent by courier, I will use a proper box and will pack it carefully but cannot be held responsible for any damage in transit. Discounts are available for multiple purchases.
