Description
This is Blue Note Records BLP 4131, Horace Silver Silver's Serenade, a blue and white New York USA Microgroove label original* mono issue of this classic record with the ear (p) mark and Van Gelder stamped in the dead wax. The record is in VG+(+) condition, (a strong VG+) showing a few marks on side 2. The record plays quietly throughout. The laminated cover, with the 43 West 61st St. New York 23 address, is excellent and intact. The labels are excellent and show light spindle marks. The record was cleaned on a VPI 17 and played on a Linn Sondek LP12 in mono mode. This is an excellent collector's grade copy of this original mono Blue Note with the appropriate markers evident. Please check our other listings as we discount shipping for multiple wins. Thanks for looking.
* There are some issues of this piece that show a deep groove on side 1. I agree with Fred Cohen (p77) and Alan Sanger that after BLP 4060 the presence or absence of the deep groove does not determine whether a record is an original issue.
