Description

Wow!! Up for auction is one of the rarest Beatles’ albums in existence: a first pressing version 1 STEREO “Introducing the Beatles” SR 1062 “ Ad Back” cover and rare vinyl STEREO disc. Version 1 denotes the use of the songs Love Me Do and Ask Me Why over later pressings featuring Please Please Me and Ask Me Why. But the gravy on this one may be the extremely RARE $2.55 price sticker that also denotes its “1/64” date. That’s right, this album’s release predates Capitol’s Meet the Beatles release that mont in January 1964! How historic is this particular album and sticker. Like many of the time, the price sticker was stapled with a unique staple through the cover. Please examine my photos. This comes with an original white (aged) none hole inner sleeve folded at the corner so it wouldn’t be stapled through and tore when pulled out. Ebay only allowed me 12 photos on this ad so I wasn’t able to get all the exciting photos I wanted included herein. As you can see, the front and back covers are pretty clean with, to me, only minor storage wear after 56 years! Note the “PRINTED IN THE U. S. A.” Letters on lower left front cover vertically. Mouth of cover has that approx 1/4” fold over flap. STEREOPHONIC banner at top. These facts denote an ORIGINAL FIRST PRESSING of this album, not a counterfeit...The price sticker is from a store called “Health-Beauty Aid Discounters.” They really did sell Beatle records anywhere back then...the left side seam is best with only a 1/4” paper tear in SR 1062; bottom seam has 1/2” tear at mouth an intermittent paper tears where shown in photos; top seam has no splits that I can see but just a couple of paper tears at left corner and where shown in photo. Now to the vinyl, factory stamped “Audiomatrix” in trail off areas. Glossy and minor scratches are very hard to see and I was limited with photos. STEREO at 12 o’clock on the labels with The Beatles ABOVE the spindle hole. I see a tad bit of wear around spindle holes but overall it’s a glossy beauty better than most but is not mint. Hard to find this version 1 disc even in this good a shape. Plays great despite minor scratches. No chips or warpage. Email me with any other questions before bidding, not afterwards. Item sold as is and no returns. No international bidders please, sorry. Only reasonable offers considered. Low offers not responded to. I’m not giving this rare album away or selling at 50% off either. Due to high value, shipping with insurance is $25 on this one. Payment via PayPal only due within 24 hours of auction’s end, no exceptions please. Ships usps with tracking priority within 48 hours of confirmed receipt of payment. Check my recent sales feedback of Beatles albums for 100% positive feedback. On ebay now for 22 years! If you don’t have this album yet in your collection yet, here’s your best chance to get it. Good luck!
