Description

This is a 45-year old boxed set of three His Master's Voice LPs of Handel's Messiah, including a 20-page book of the music. Inside the box it's all in very good condition; the box has had some home repairs on the corners. The recording is of The Philarmonia Orchestra and The Philarmonia Chorus and features Elisabeth Schwarzkopf, Grace Hoffman, Nicolai Gedda and Jerome Hines.

These are HEAVY old records (1026 grams without any packaging) and because Ebay limits the postal costs the starting price has been adjusted accordingly - otherwise selling them could cost us a lot of money!

This is the answer to someone who asked us to give them a visual description of the records: "I am no expert but here goes. All the records are slightly dusty and I am not going to dust them as I do not have a proper record duster and may cause more problems than I solve. Record 1 seems to be very clean and I can't see any scratches or anything. I suspect that there is a slight finger print smudge near the edge at one point, but it's faint. Record two - again no visible scratches; a definite slight finger smudge - quite small (a lot smaller than a full finger print) at one edge. Record three - there seems to have been some slight fluid spill on the record at some stage, and the fluid has left a residue. I suspect - but don't know for a fact - that if you had proper cleaning fluid, as I used to have years ago, this would come off easily. Perhaps even very careful dampt soft cotton would dab it off, I don't know. This residue is in small 'splashes' on both sides of the record and can be seen clearly in certain lights.
