Description

Van Der Graaf Generator Vinyl Album - The Least We Can Do Is Wave To Each Other (1970)

Highly sought after Charisma "pink scroll" edition: CAS1007

Matrix numbers: CAS1007A-3U and CAS1007B-3U

Technically this is the 2nd album by British prog rock giants Van der Graaf Generator, but to all intents and purposes, this is really their 1st album (the earlier The Aerosol Grey Machine was actually a Peter Hammill solo project).  It broke new ground technically, with most of the album recorded on 8-track, but the track "After the Flood" was recorded on 16-track, state of the art equipment at the time.

Track Listing:

Side One

1."Darkness (11/11)" – 7:28

2."Refugees" – 6:23

3."White Hammer" – 8:15

Side two

4."Whatever would Robert have said?" – 6:07

5."Out of my Book"  – 4:08

6."After the Flood" – 11:29

This early "pink scroll" edition is very collectable indeed.  Despite this I am starting with a low auction price and there is no reserve, so you could pick up a real bargain here!

The vinyl is in VG+ condition and the gatefold sleeve is VG-, with a few scuffs round the edges, and a couple of places at the foot of the half that holds the record where the card has split.

I will post the record 1st class within 2 days of receiving payment.  It will be in a cardboard LP mailer, further strengthened by an additional cardboard insert.  Because of the little splits in the sleeve I will separate the record from the sleeve for postage so that any movement of the record in the post won't harm the sleeve.  To do that I will wrap the record (inside its original black inner sleeve) in tissue paper.  I will also wrap the sleeve in tissue then contain both within the mailer.

This is a great chance to own a really important album in prog rock history - a lovely item.

Please take a look at my other items - I am selling my whole collection, with more to follow soon.
