Description

(Hear) Marvin Holmes & Uptights Funk 45 (Funky Mule)

Marvin Holmes and the Uptights – “The Funky Mule, Pt.1” b/w “Same, Pt.2” (Boola-Boola 2655). Marvin Holmes was one of the major movers and shakers of Bay area soul and funk through the 60s and 70s, recording with the Uptights, Justice, and under his own name. He recorded 45s for a number of different labels including Revue, Brown Door, Uni, Kon-Kord, and Boola Boola, as well as 1969 LP for Uni. This 1969 release on the original Boola Boola label is one of his best cuts but hard to find. Both sides are great but listen to a little bit of Pt. 2”. Record is in strong VG condition. Postage will be paid by purchaser.
