Description
I cut and paste this description from the following link https://www.popsike.com/Hawkwind-Whitesnake-mispressed-LP/4789244872.html, I am not sure why this link has been removed as it is a legit link to the album that was sold here on ebay, you could get to the link by googling hawkwind whitesnake misprint.
This description describes the album i am selling perfectly, i will place the album sleeve and cover together in a protective plastic slip sleeve.
I have had this album from new and when i discovered it was a mispressing i decided to keep it rather than return it.
From the link you will see the only other copy known sold for £69 in 2005, this may be the only other copy in existence hence the start price, so this may be your last chance ever to purchase this rarity
This is so rare that despite over thirty years of searching the World for Hawkwind items to collect, this is the only copy of this I have ever heard about, let alone found.
The album comes in the original black and silver Doremi Fasol Latido sleeve and the illustrated inner sleeve.
Side two of the disc is Hawkwind and contains the tracks Lord Of Light, Down Through The Night, Time We Left This World Today and The Watcher, which is side two of the Doremi album.
Side one should have the first side of Doremi, but in fact is side one of Whitesnake's Lovehunter album, with the tracks, Long Way From Home, Walking In The Shadow Of The Blues, Help Me Thro' The Day, Medicine Man and You 'n' Me.
A really surprising aspect of this item is that the labels in the centre of the record show what is actually on it. I imagine this is why it is so rare as it would have been spotted at the pressing plant when someone spotted labels by two different bands on the same disc. I am inclined to think it never made it to the shops, or if it did, it would be in tiny quantities, which is perhaps why I have only come across this copy. Also, in those days, people didn't look for mispresses so much...when we got a mispress, we took it back to the shop and asked for a proper copy! I am inclined to wonder if this copy was 'lifted' from the reject pile and taken from the pressing plant.
The disc and inner sleeve are in lovely condition. The outer sleeve has some creasing at the corners, gained when the record was in the mail.
