Description
Up on the auction block today with no reserve is one of the best rhythm & blues records of all time. This is the very first mid-50s pressing of The Midnighters' early hits including Sexy Ways, She's The One, Get it, and of course the "Annie" trilogy, that they say were poo-pooed even by the black radio stations. The cover of this record is in nice shape; the top & spine have been neatly taped, though the bottom is perfectly intact with no splits. A human named Jerry Norby wrote his name in small letters on the back. The record itself sounds great. I've owned this since the 80s, and up until today, I'd kept it carefully stored & played it only twice. There are a few unobtrusive ticks at the beginning, but once it gets to "shake baby shake shake shake, til the meat rolls off your bones" on the 3rd song in, there's virtually no background noise at all. I'm no record collector, but I'd say this record can safely be considered as being in nice VG+ condition. I will send this double-boxed & insured within the US for $10.
