In 1965, director Joshua Logan attempted to revive his sagging career with a musical version of one of his greatest hits.  In brief, it didn’t work out.
Hot September closed in Boston, seemingly leaving nothing behind but a Frank Sinatra recording of the show’s big ballad, “Golden Moment.”  Or so it seemed…
But cast members of the production got together in a recording studio after the closing and made the recordings heard here, along with four songs from the show’s demo.  So the performances of Sean Garrison, Sheila Sullivan, Eddie Bracken and (especially) the wonderful Lovelady Powell as Rosemary survive.
