Description

Up for bid is a classic jazz album from 1960, "Horace-Scope" by The Horace Silver Quintet on BLUE NOTE BLP 4042. The album is a High Fidelity as marked on the cover. The W. 63rd street address is on the label. The album label is blue and white and RVG and "the ear" appears on both sides. The musicians include Blue Mitchell, trumpet; Junior Cook tenor sax; Gene Taylor, bass; Roy Brooks, drums and of course Horace Silver, piano. There is a 1-1/2" tear in the seam in the upper right hand corner of the cover. Other than this the cover on both sides is quite nice. The colors on the front of the cover are vibrant and it has maintained its shine. The record has a few light surface scratches and it has not lost its luster. I have played the album once and it played beautifully. I would rate the cover VG+ and the record VG+ as well. The original inner cover is also included with the album. This is a must for any serious collector and an opportunity to own one at a very reasonable price.
