Description

This auction is for the Hoarce Silver LP "Finger Poppin" on Blue Note Records, released in 1959.  This is an original MONO pressing of the album, with the "47 WEST 63rd" address on both labels.  Both labels are deep groove, and also there is a stamped RVG and an "ear" on both sides of the LP.  Since this is an original Blue Note, I have a rather in-depth description of the record and sleeve for you.  First, the cover is in really excellent condition.  Apart from showing some extremely light wear on the top half of the front cover (hard to see if not in the right light), the cover is in nearly perfect condition.  The seams and spine are not only intact, but are very strong and show no signs of aging or wear.  VG++ on the cover.   For the record, I would grade it at VG+.  It sounds quite excellent, and is quiet throughout, although there is some light background noise in the quieter passages and there's a bit of light noise for the first 5 seconds or so on the first side.  For the quiet tunes (side 1, track 4, for example), one might very conservatively grade the track VG.  Maybe.  It's a really good listen, but please note it's not perfect!  Visually, there are only a couple of superficial rubs and marks.  Labels-wise, the Side 1 label has a couple of age spots, but the Side 2 label is perfect.  All in all, a really nice original H. Silver Blue Note LP.
