Description

PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question.   OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. Because of that dedication, there should be no need to open a resolution dispute before working with us.  Please keep in mind, we would prefer to continue to provide you the opportunity to acquire the rare music we present each and every week.   Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable.  We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over 18,000 positive feedback.   We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. Thank you for your interest and support.   ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ SHIPPING:   USA ~ 1 LP = $4.00 Media Priority rates vary by area; please inquire.   All Canadian and Overseas shipping ~ Please inquire about rates. + 16 page BOOKLET!
  • *******************************************************************************************
  • Investment collectible ~ only to rise in value as time marches on

  • sold at $500+ TEN years ago

    *******************************************************************************************

    ALL contents spanning 1961-1966.

  • The front cover says: "The only definitive collection! 10 record set over 8 hours of music. 134 previously Unreleased tracks"

  • This set has yet to be bettered in sound quality, even by some of the (now rare) compact discs containing some of the material within.

  • The cover on this great 40 year old box set is simple but effective. A grainy looking black and white shot of Bob with all of the songs listed on the front.

  • The Label is Tarantula.

  • The folks behind the Label were the best in the business. They released only the highest quality pieces in fantastic major label quality covers. Called Zimmerman: and absolutely No kin to earlier bootlegs, with their coffee- grinder production values, the high-grade, handsomely packaged renegade clearly comes from first-rate tapes.   The extremely hard-to-find limited edition collection - whose title comes from the tarot card symbolizing "trouble in spite of riches and high position," and from Dylan's original name, Robert Allen Zimmerman - bills itself as "the only definitive collection" of unreleased material from that startling period when the young Dylan roared through the conventions of pop music like a runaway engine.   * Three sides of material from what have become known as the "Minnesota Hotel Tapes." Taped in a Minneapolis home in December 1961, the recordings offer a 20-year-old Dylan whooping, growling and hollering through 25 traditional songs such as "Man of Constant Sorrow," "Candy Man" and ''Baby, Please Don't Go." * Ten outtakes from Dylan's first album, Bob Dylan, recorded in November 1961. These songs were discarded from the album - and a good thing, too. Few are up to Dylan's standards. * Nine songs from a demo Dylan made in 1961 or 1962 for the Leeds Music publishing company. These include a rare version of "He Was a Friend of Mine," later a minor hit for The Byrds. * Seven outtakes from 1962's The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan. These tracks include four fine songs that were included on early versions of the singer's first album of original material and were then withdrawn: "Let Me Die in My Footsteps," "Talking John Birch Paranoid Blues," "Rocks and Gravel" and ''Ramblin' Gamblin' Willie." * Sixteen songs from a 1962 demo tape for the Witmark Publishing Co., including rough cuts of "Tomorrow Is a Long Time" and, on piano, "When the Ship Comes In" and "The Times They Are A-Changin'." * Seventeen tracks from an intimate 1962 concert at the Gaslight Cafe in Greenwich Village, including a chilling, never-released "Moonshine Blues" and the stirring sing-along "A Hard Rain's Gonna Fall." * Five cuts from 1963 concerts at New York's Town Hall and Carnegie Hall, including the anti-boxing anthem "Who Killed Davey Moore?" "Dusty Old Fairgrounds" and "Last Thoughts on Woody Guthrie," an eight-minute recited poem. * Seven outtakes from 1963's The Times They Are A-Changin', including the hypnotic "Percy's Song" and an unreleased would-be protest anthem, "Paths of Victory." * Eight discards from Another Side of Bob Dylan, culled from an astonishing 1964 session in which Dylan recorded 20 songs in one day. "I'll Keep It With Mine" became a Fairport Convention hit; "Lay Down Your Weary Tune" is only now being heard, via Biograph. * From Bringing It All Back Home, recorded in January 1965 - melodic, somewhat hesitant first takes of four trademark songs including "It's All Over Now, Baby Blue." * Seven outtakes from Highway 61, taped in July 1965 - the first drafts of a rock landmark. * Three songs and three snippets from a 1965 studio session with The Band. Included are a superb "Visions of Johanna" and an explosive example of mid-' 60s vitriol, "She's Your Lover Now"; neither was released. * Eight in-concert songs as Dylan and The Band went electric at Royal Albert Hall in 1966. The performance, which Dylan's folkie audience booed, was taped for a possible album and culminated in a brutal "Like a Rolling Stone." Brash, dangerous, aggressive, triumphant and still thrilling.
