Description
On offer here is an exceptionally rare LP in the very best condition. The Hollies collectors dream, a near MINT 1st pressing of their finest psych album " Butterfly" in STEREO Catalogue Number PCS 7039. On the Yellow and Black UK Parlophone label and virtually impossible to find, especially in this condition.
When originally released in 1967 this LP did not sell well, probably having something to do with the fact that there were no UK singles or EP releases of any of the tracks, and therefore less commercial appeal. Shortly after it's release, and almost immediately after the first STEREO copies were pressed, the album was deleted, making these STEREO copies highly sought after.
This is the ORIGINAL 1967 UK STEREO 1st PRESSING YELLOW & BLACK PARLOPHONE LABEL, with the STEREO 1st PRESS Matrix Endings 1/2, 1st Press "Sold In The UK" Label text, 1st Press EMI Co. Ad Inner Sleeve, and 1st Press "GARROD & LOFTHOUSE" front laminated "PATENTS PENDING" FLIP-BACK SLEEVE.
VINYL CONDITION: The playing surface actually looks unplayed, NO marks, NO scratches, NO scuffs. Absolutely pristine with an as new sheen. Can't imagine a better copy. Near MINT at least.
LABELS CONDITION: The labels are as new with NO marks, NO stains, NO finger marks, NO writing. They appear as new other than one very small and very light spindle trail either side close to the hole, visible only in angled bright light at close inspection. Certainly no spindle wear at all.
SLEEVE CONDITION: Sleeve is EX + due to very slight 2.5cm ring wear on the top front above the "LL" in "Hollies" and some tiny hairline creasing close to the spine (common on these sixties laminated flip-backs (see picture). The none laminated sleeve rear is in amazingly clean and spotless condition (see picture). The opening edges are crisp and sharp.
This exceptionally rare STEREO 1st Pressing copy of The Hollies finest and most collectable album is a real ONE OFF. It will, surely, be a long time before another one this good becomes available, if EVER !!! Don't miss out on this rare opportunity to own a MAGNIFICENT copy.
