Description
Matrix: WIRL 1027
Early mono pressing by the house band from the Jamaica Hilton in Ocho Rios. Contrary to the title, this is essentially a mento album and a very fine one at that. "Ska-Motion" is actually the old folksong "There's a Brown Girl in the Ring" and "Ska and Fall Back" (as "Dip and Fall Back") comes from the reportoire of Lord Fly, the band's former employer. Also, the back-to-Africa "Ethiopia" -- which was recorded in '50s by Lord Lebby -- is included. Produced by Coxsone Dodd, these sides were recorded at 13 Brentford Rd., with 5 of the titles coming out as Studio One 45s.
Vinyl is NEAR MINT-*, with high gloss and a couple of light, non-sounding surface marks The cover is still in its shrinkwrap and in near perfect condition. Side 1 label has very small tears and Side 2 has light writing in pencil. Both have deep grooves, suggesting first press.
