You are bidding here for the magazine described below and as shown in the accompanying image(s).

RECORD COLLECTOR NO. 209

JANUARY 1997

Of all my back issues of this magazine, this edition is rather special as I took it to a NOEL REDDING BAND gig in York in 1998 and had it signed by the great man. He also signed a number of other items that night including my ticket which I still have. You are welcome to see a jpeg of this if you wish (i.e. as provenance) - just email me (and give your direct email address).  Naturally, the ticket states the venue, date etc.

This is the only time I had met Noel and he seemed to me a very affable and friendly chap. He was very interested in the HENDRIX article (nine full sides) and mentioned that he had a copy at home of the issue of 'Beat Instrumental' which is shown on the page facing the one which he signed (not visible on picture).

Sadly I have to say that, musically, the gig was a bit ordinary but at least I got to see Noel play (my first time). The band also featured ERIC BELL on lead guitar who, I'm pleased to say, livened things up a bit.

The magazine itself is a particularly good issue and features, amongst other things, articles on..................

• PSYCHEDELIA - CLASS OF '67
• THE JIMI HENDRIX EXPERIENCE
• GARBAGE
• DR. WHO
• XTC
• ERIC BURDON
• READY, STEADY GO!

The psychedelia article is 14 sides and chronicles key musical events of the year. This is followed by half page features on the following acts (with a b/w image on each one)............BEATLES, BIG BROTHER & THE HOLDING COMPANY, COUNTRY JOE & THE FISH, CREAM, THE DOORS, THE GRATEFUL DEAD, THE JIMI HENDRIX EXPERIENCE, JEFFERSON AIRPLANE, ARTHUR LEE AND LOVE, THE MAMAS AND THE PAPAS, PINK FLOYD (WITH SYD BARRETT), QUICKSILVER MSSENGER SERVICE, THE ROLLING STONES AND SOFT MACHINE.

Being a bit of a psychedelia 'special', there follows the nine full sides (with lots of b/w images) on THE JIMI HENDRIX EXPERIENCE. NOEL REDDING has signed his image on the second page.

Strangely enough, this magazine may appeal equally to DR. WHO fans as there are no less than 10 fully illustrated sides(b/w) on audio spin-offs from the series.

Condition of this item is extremely good - just very light wear.  All pages are intact, complete, clean and unmarked. Has been well looked after (also, I made sure Noel didn't rest it on the bar!).

This item is being sold without reserve.
