HEADS TOGETHER / FIRST ROUND - a Vertigo 1971 various artists compilation, Jade Warrior, Nirvana, Tudor Lodge & Co.
Vertigo 6360 045, 1971 UK issue, matrix numbers As1 11 3, Bs1 115; gatefold sleeve; Vertigo large swirl label, side A.
Album conceived and compiled by Cas Thomas (Songwriters’ Workshop) and Patrick Campbell-Lyons.
Cover EX Beautifully preserved, firm, clean gatefold. Lightly textured panels show some transparent surface marks and a few other light marks, on the rear one foxing spot (left hand side, centre) and a small scuff (centre, near top), a short faint crease/bend plus tiny bump on the front top right corner. Edges and spine near perfect.
Supplied in a new poly-lined inner sleeve, the original Vertigo large swirl inner is included (title in neat writing, discolouration on edges).
Disc EX+/EX Vinyl and labels look pretty much as good as new. The sound is great, the disc plays as well as it looks, allowing for the following: one light click (side 2, track 1), some light surface noise in track breaks and occasional faint background crackle, less intermittent in the second half of side 1 – this is more detectable through headphones than speakers, but in no way intrusive even then.
