overall, general description of vinyl : VG to VG++. There are varying degrees of surface noise on some cuts; some of it is from the original recordings, as alot of these songs were recorded off of original copies of the 78s, in the early 1950s, long before digital recording. I listened to all 12 sides & did not have to lift the tone arm once. Below are gradings for each of the 12 sides (I use the Goldmine Record Grading guidelines).
Ballads side A: VG++ side B: VG+ side C: VG+ side D: VG+
Social Music side A: VG (some pops) side B: VG+ side C: VG+ side D: VG (pop at beginning of first cut; pop in 4th cut (a pop is a play-through skip that does not require lifting the tone-arm to get out of).
Songs side A: VG+ side B: VG (track 1 pop) side C: VG++ side D: VG++
(Just as a note of interest which really has nothing to do with above records (or the starting bid): this came out of Dizzy Gillespie's record collection)
