HANK MOBLEY "Hank Mobley and His All Stars" Blue Note 1544,  RVG, DG, P, Mono Vinyl

This is the Deep Groove, "RVG" etched, "P" pressing of HANK MOBLEY's "Hank Mobley and His All Stars" on the "47 West 63rd" labels of Blue Note BLP 1544.  Musicians include Hank Mobley, Milt Jackson, Horace Silver, Doug Watkins, Art Blakey.

VINYL plays with low level surface noise (i.e, static, crackle, ??,????,relative to the volume of the music/instruments), with pops and ticks. Ensemble sections are very dynamic  and strong, clear, clean and powerful. No distortion. No locked grooves. No skips. Decent gloss, little luster. Many hairline marks, three or four feelable. As with all early Blue Note pressings, this beautifully recorded and pressed LP largely overcomes surface defects. The Deep Groove "47 West 63rd/New York 23" (One Side) labels show aging, fading but largely clean with spindle marks under direct light. See photos.

This LP was play tested. RECORD CLEANED ON VPI 16.5 VINYL CLEANER.
