Amphetamine Reptile Records is celebrating the return of Hammerhead with  a brand new, limited edition 12" vinyl EP for their show in Austin, TX for the SXSW Festival on March 17th, 2011 at Obsolete Industries.


 The showcase in question is the Anarcho Retardist Terror Exhibit, part of the AmRep Showcase in Austin 3/17/11. Hammerhead resurrected and commissioned Retardism art movement stalwart HAZE XXL to hand make their first record release in over a decade. The normal edition is 12' x 12" linocuts, hand printed and assembled, 100 sleeves all have the needed blemishes, wrinkles and imperfections to meet stringent retardist code. 50 of these will be on exhibit for the Texas show.

That night, Hammerhead are doing their set inside the gallery at 7pm.

After the art show there's a FREE showcase of new school AmRep bands/friends.

The 12" up for auction is a TEST PRESSING for the upcoming release & features the "Komrade Kommunist SKuid" design that were only on the sleeves for the Test Press & not for sale. This is the only one we plan to offer for sale. As you can see, the linoleum cut print is the epitome of the DIY Retardist ethic & off course has all the goofy little imperfections that scream that it wasn't machine made.

The SKuid design has been extremely popular & there have been many inquiries to purchase it. The back is the same as the regular edition except it's in black ink instead of the standard red of the rest of the edition & is signed & numbered by Haze XXL. The one here is #1/5 test pressings & the edition numbers match the disk.

 The vinyl record features the 4 tracks "Ressurrecto", "Once Again with Feeling", "Cloudless Face", & "Memory Hole". The paper label is marked "HAMMERHEAD TEST PRESS 1 OF 5" in black Sharpie on one side.

Also included in the auction is the 5" x 7" show postcard used to promote the show.
