Description
Hal "Lone Pine" (aka Harold Breau, the Lone Pine Mountaineer) - Prince Edward Island is Heaven to Me / Down by the Railroad Tracks. Event 4257 monoraul 7" 45 rpm record. Released 1956. Condition: Record is a visual VG. The record has been completely play-tested and the sound quality is excellent. The labels are in beautiful condition. Comments: This early and extremely rare recording of Hal Lone Pine was made by Al Hawkes who owned the Event Records label in Westbrook, Maine. The company is legendary for its short but incredible slate of rockabilly and bluegrass artists that came through its doors between 1956 and 1962. Hal "Lone Pine" later signed with RCA Victor records and recorded solo and as a duet with his wife Betty Cody. The two of them toured in the RCA Caravan country tour organized by Colonel Tom Parker which featured several RCA artists including Hank Snow and Eddy Arnold. Hal Lone Pine and Betty Cody were the parents of Lenny Breau, one of the most respected guitar geniuses ever to play the instrument. Lenny was a protege of Chet Atkins and also recorded for RCA Victor.
