Description
This auction is for a lot of 5 two sided Soundcraft recordable (recorded) 78 RPM records of a Testimonial for 50 years of service at Genesee County Savings Bank of Flint, Michigan (from 1904 to 1954) for Gyles E. Merrill (Merrill School of Flint named after him). Recorded on Soundcraft recordable 12 inch records recorded at 78 rpm speed. I assumed they were purchased at or recorded by Jenson Incorporated 427 Detroit St. Flint, Michigan (see photos). The labels show some signs of aging but remain very readable and attached. Records play fine with some snaps and pops. Speakers include many local Flint business and civic leaders and other dignitaries including Mr. Merrill himself. Also a long speech by then General Motors President Harlow Curtis. My guess is that these records were produced on site/location as it happened and post produced as a gift to Mr. Merrill for his many years of service to Genesee Bank. Records labeled Sept. 10, 1954 and numbered sides 1 thru 10. A very rare if not only one in existance - interesting collectable historical Flint, Michigan item... Items can be picked-up locally.
